Hello, I am Sami and welcome to my blog. For a few weeks now, I have been feeling some really big "growth spurts" inside of me. I am 30 something wife, mom/stepmom who has always put her children first. As of this year one of our sons will become an adult, two of our children will become teens and one will become a preteen. While I will continue to make my children a priority I must put my husband and our marriage first. I will also focus on bringing the woman within me out. I look forward to this new chapter in my life in order to watch our children grow into responsible adults, to love and cherish my husband and to be the beautiful, confident woman God created. Please join me in my journey and always feel free to comment, offer advise, or just say hello!
Hi Sami .. good to be back from Africa and love your site
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! It is that time of year again. Yes, the Westminister Kennel Club Dog Show is only 17 short days away! As you can tell by my new look........I am getting very excited!!!! The Westminister is to me like the Superbowl is to folks into football. I HOPE my favorite breed of all time, the Boxer, will win its group and then go on to win best in show! I have my fingers crossed!
It is actually supposed to get up to 43 degrees today. You wouldn't be able to tell it by going outside right now because it is lightly snowing. We haven't hit over 20 degrees in the past week. In fact when I left for work yesterday it was 2 degrees out. It is supposed to get up into the high 50's on Sunday. I can't wait for it to get warm out. I am tired of seeing snow and ice all over the roads and yards. We have cabin fever so bad we can hardly stand it. Bring on the nice, warm, toasty weather!
I put in to run for a PTSA office position again for next school year. I applied for Corresponding Secretary, Historian, and 2nd Vice President Memberships. I don't really care which one I get elected for I just hope I get to do something. I am the chairman for the nominatting committee so I will be busy next week getting a slate ready so that we can vote on next years officers at our next meeting on February 5.
AJ has a basketball game on Saturday morning. Hopefully they will get another win. We are going to order medals for the boys on Saturday afternoon. The league doesn't give anything out to the teams unless they place in the tournament so we always buy medals for them in case they do not make it to the championship. My husband wants the boys to be proud of their efforts for the season. We normally do an end of the year party but my husband says he doesn't want to do one this year. I think he is glad this is his last year coaching. Not because of the kids but because of the parents. The parents do not bring their kids to practice or the games on time, sometimes not to practice at all, and then there are times parents complain that their kids do not get to play enough. It is really hard when you are given way too many kids on a team and are required to play each of them at least 2 quarters. Those that do not coach do not understand the effort and dedication the coach has to put into the team. It is easy to sit on the bleachers and complain. I think my husband has done a fabulous job over the past several years being a coach. We have had several kids return to our team because their parents know he is a good coach and is very dedicated in teaching them. I hope some of these boys take their skills and try out for the school team. My husband and I plan on going to some games to see if they do play in order to see how they are doing as they continue their journey in playing basketball.
My husband called me this morning about the awesome interest rates on houses right now. It is too bad our house is not in shape in order to go ahead and put it on the market now. But we really can't do anything at the present until we find out what is going to happen with the boys. It would sure be nice to have some extra square footage so that we could all stretch out more than we can now.
Have a great weekend!
