Hello, I am Sami and welcome to my blog. For a few weeks now, I have been feeling some really big "growth spurts" inside of me. I am 30 something wife, mom/stepmom who has always put her children first. As of this year one of our sons will become an adult, two of our children will become teens and one will become a preteen. While I will continue to make my children a priority I must put my husband and our marriage first. I will also focus on bringing the woman within me out. I look forward to this new chapter in my life in order to watch our children grow into responsible adults, to love and cherish my husband and to be the beautiful, confident woman God created. Please join me in my journey and always feel free to comment, offer advise, or just say hello!
Hi Sami .. good to be back from Africa and love your site
Yesterday I spent most of the day organizing and cleaning my office at work. I went through all of the 2007 paperwork and threw away what was no longer needed and archived what needed to be saved. I found a 4 shelf shelving unit on the dock that no one was using and somehow managed to push it all the way to my office myself. I was able to put some items on there to clear up around my desk work surface. Things are looking nice, clean, and ORGANIZED! Then I met my husband for lunch at a Mexican restaurant which was absolutely delicious!
Since I was so productive at work I was in the mood to do the same at home. However, that was not to be. My husband had basketball practice so he was going to be gone most of the evening. Hylari talked me into letting her stay home on Monday. She had caught the sinus infection and probably wasn't sick enough to stay home but I also knew that her least favorite Aunt was on her way as well and that was giving her problems as well. So with missing school on Monday she had a TON of homework last night. Homework was worked on from 3:30 until near 11:00PM!!! She is normally in bed by 9-9:30. As we were working on homework she got into her binder to retrieve some paperwork and it broke. Luckily I had some rings that slipped into the binder from the last binder that broke. However, these rings are not lined up which is odd because they have never been used! I will be purchasing the 8th binder so far this school year! I am going to get her some kind of trophy at the end of the year recognizing how many binders we have gone through this school year. I was talking to a guy at work and he said they have purchased 3 so far this school year. I guess they do not make them like they used to. I am going to buy her a Case It binder this time and see if we have any more luck with it. (www.caseit.com if you are interested for your kiddos. They have some pretty cool backpacks and electronic carrying cases as well). So, my husband shows up at 9:30PM after basketball practice and is hobbling in the door. Apparently one of the kids got underneath his feet which caused him to twist his ankle and fall down. His ankle was very swollen but he refused to go to the hospital to have it checked out. If it doesn't interfere with eating or sleeping my husband won't go see a doctor. Today he is still pretty sore and is having a pretty hard time walking on it but still is not interested in having it checked out. I didn't get started on my nightly chores until 11:00 after I got Hylari and my hubby into bed. I actually didn't get a whole lot done .... just the necessities and then I watched the most up to date episode of Quent-essentials that I had on the DVR and went to bed.
The weather guys are talking the "s" word again! It is actually pretty warm out right now but they say it should start snowing around 4:00PM and we will get anywhere from an inch to 4 inches of snow. This morning the engineers at my work had the snowblade parked in my parking spot at work. They must be getting ready to gear up for it. I am going to head out to Hobby Lobby at lunch in order to get some supplies for a Science project for Brock so I hope nothing starts early. Speaking of the Science project....right after school started back up after Christmas break Brock brought home a form that had to be signed by a parent stating they would be committed in helping their child work on a at home Science project that is due at the end of the month. Brock's mother signs the paper and has yet to start the project with him. So my hubby and I decided that once again we will take things in our own hands because it will end up being January 31st and she will say "Oooooooooooooh! I forgot all about that." which is her normal excuse.
Have a great day!!!!!!!!!
for some reason that link caseit didnt work for me. I'll have to try later because Id like to see what they have. My kids dont use binders in school but they do use those file folders. you know..the ones that look like accordians? They use binders at home though for organization. Alyssa is rough on her backbacks. We bought her an expensive rolling backback the beginning of the year and its already really beat up with a hole on one side! Since it was costly, I told her to use it next year. Well, I hope it lasts but I think we have to buy another one. Everyyear for all their school years, they have new backpacks. I still have my backpack from my first year of college! which i still use. I hope your hubbys ankle is better now....! take care...I will let you know when I update. we are still moving little by little. I've been busy with the kids and all their activities every day! Oh and I had my 13th wedding anniversary this week! 13 years!! time flies...
