Hello, I am Sami and welcome to my blog. For a few weeks now, I have been feeling some really big "growth spurts" inside of me. I am 30 something wife, mom/stepmom who has always put her children first. As of this year one of our sons will become an adult, two of our children will become teens and one will become a preteen. While I will continue to make my children a priority I must put my husband and our marriage first. I will also focus on bringing the woman within me out. I look forward to this new chapter in my life in order to watch our children grow into responsible adults, to love and cherish my husband and to be the beautiful, confident woman God created. Please join me in my journey and always feel free to comment, offer advise, or just say hello!
Hi Sami .. good to be back from Africa and love your site
Whhhheeew! I have been kind of busy at work lately so I haven't had time to blog. I am caught up on everything so today I will take it easy. Today is one of my favorite co-workers last day.
It won't be the same here without him. My husband and I will be sure to stay in touch with him and his wife. They are the ones that I still have to win over to the Lord....so you know I won't be giving up on them!
It is raining like cats and dogs out out today. Thank goodness it is not the snow they said that would be coming today or we would have been burried in 2 hours ago. They say we may still get a dusting to an inch of snow...but I don't think that is going to happen.
Mike called a couple nights ago and told us he received an acceptance letter from Northwest Missouri State College. We were soooooo excited but also so shocked because his grades are terrible. My husband talked to Mike's mom the following day and she said the letter actually said something like he was being accepted by the skin on his teeth. It also said that he would have to attend a special Freshman seminar that had something to do with the fact that he truly is not up to par to where he should be entering college. He has 2 weeks to accept. He only chose that college because a few friends of his did. It really doesn't offer any majors in anything he would be interested in. My husband talked to him last night and I believe he is going to pass on this college. We are going to have him apply at Central Missouri State this weekend. CMSU is only about 45 minutes away and has alot of majors to choose from.
AJ and Brock were over last night. Brock's hair is getting a little long but it looks so cute. He has that shaggy look that is real popular right now. We usually keep his hair cut pretty short. AJ's hair is really long on the top but he likes it like that. He likes the shaggy look too. AJ is soooooo concerned about his hair right now. My husband and I always say he acts like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. We try to touch his hair and he will duck down so that we can't touch it. Then my husband and I say in an accent...."don't mess with the haaaaaiiir". AJ will be 13 in March. He has matured so much recently. He is a really showing what a good kid he is going to be. I am going to go get him a special little gift this weekend just to let him know we notice how responsible and mature he is becoming.
Hyllie Bean got her grade card yesterday and she still has straight A's! Wahooo! She also recently had a big project on the state of Oregon and received 140/142 points! She just started a Foreign Language class and is learning French. She is going around trying to say French words. It is so cute. My husband and I both took French in high school so we can remember a little in order to try to communicate with her. Hyl has a birthday slumber party at her best friends house tomorrow night and then another birthday party for my friend Christine's son on Sunday afternoon.
Tonight I am going to get my nails filled after work and then after we eat dinner my hubby and I are going to put in the last few remaining vinyl tiles in the kitchen. We are going to have to pull the fridge out so I will give it a good cleaning while the back is exposed. My husband has had a sinus infection the past few days which has caused him to be a little crabby....you know how men are when they are sick? He got all of his music loaded onto his MP3 player last night so he will now have that to take to the gym with him. AJ really likes my husbands MP3 player and said that is what he wants for his birthday.
I think that is all for now. I will go make my rounds reading up on all my favorite pals blogs!
Have a great day!
Hi Sami, I've been so busy lately that I havent had time to blog. I tried the other night but then got lazy and ended up watching tv with my family. Congrats on your daughters grades!!! That is awesome! Wow, French, thats a hard language to learn. The only foreign language we have in our grade school is spanish. In high school, hopefully they will have more to chose from. Congrats on Mike getting into a college! Even if its not the one he really wants to go to, at least he now knows that he can get into one with hard work. I agree, he needs to go to one where he has good majors to chose from. Okay...time to read your other entries....
