The past 6 days in a nutshell

  • Mood:
  • Pray for: Sean Taylor's Family and teammates
  • Days until vacation: Get your Christmas cards in the mail!

I am trying to get back into the groove.  Of course you know we had the holiday last week, then the weekend and I ended up calling in sick to work yesterday.  I was still so exhausted from working with my mom at the stadium on Saturday evening.  We timed in at 8:30PM and had to wait for the game to get over before we could start cleaning which was around 11:00PM.  We worked all night long and timed out at 6:30AM!  I was starving when we left so I drove by Hardee's and got a breakfast sandwich so I didn't get home until 7:15.  I ate that real quick and jumped into bed and slept until 2:30PM on Sunday.  I didn't end up getting a chance to sleep during the day on Saturday so by the time I went to bed on Sunday morning I had been up for 23 hours straight!  I am a person of routine so I was so messed up on Sunday after I woke up.  My body had no clue what was going on.  I had a terrible headache and was hungry almost the whole time I was up.  I didn't do anything but lay around on Monday which I ended up regretting in the evening because there was so much to do.  I didn't end up going to be until 1:00AM last night.  Therefore, I am tired yet again today.

We got the Christmas tree up on Wednesday which ended up being a major feat.  Our Christmas tree was prestrung with white lights and my husband decided he wanted colored lights so we started taking off the lights.  That was taking forever so my husband said that Christmas lights were pretty cheap to buy so we should just cut them off so that is what we did.  It still ended up taking like 3 hours to get all of the lights off!  Uuuuugh!  The things you do for love!  Anyway....tree is decorated and looks beautiful (although I still prefer white lights).  The boys came and stayed with us Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and we rented Evan Almighty and Surfs Up which were both cute movies.  Mike was supposed to come over Tuesday night but wanted to go to a basketball game at the school instead so my husband told him we would pick him up Wednesday.  We called several times on Wednesday and either no one was home or they didn't know where Mike was (there's some good parenting...not knowing where you child is!)  My husband was pretty upset with Mike however when he finally talked to him on Friday he acted like it was no big deal.  I think that is part of Mike's problem of being so irresponsible is neither his mom or dad hold him accountable for anything and let him by with so much.

We went to my Aunt and Uncle's on Thanksgiving day and had a wonderful meal and even better time visiting with family.  I didn't want to go home when it was time to go.  But we will see them all again in a few weeks for Christmas.

On Friday we only had to work a half day so we went and had some BBQ for lunch and then stopped by my parents house to that my husband could fix their PC.  That ended up taking most of the rest of the day but he got them back up and running.  While he was working on their PC I went to Hobby Lobby and got some materials to make a cute felt Gingerbread house I saw on a TV show.  Here is the link (if it works) http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/ca_crafts_projects/article/0,2041,DIY_13721_5721183,00.html.   It was really easy to make and alot of fun but since I am not a good sewer I got my roof sewed on wrong so mine looks pretty bad from that aspect.  I have enough materials to make another one so I may attempt that if I have time.  I picked up some other materials last night and have started making a tree skirt.  I have tried to make one in the past and ended up throwing it away so we will see.

I finally got my hair colored last night.  It was 85 weeks past needing to be done.  I went and had my hair cut a few weeks back and got an estimate for it to be done in the salon.  Lets just say....the box I bought from Walmart was a way better deal.  I am going to try to go get my nails filled tonight.  They are in as about as bad as shape as my hair was.  If I let them go much longer the tips are going to fall off.  I am going to have them shorten them about half way down as well because they have gotten so long.

I took Hylari out to get a new pair of tennis shoes last night.  She is so hard on shoes so I typically have to buy her a new pair every 3 months and I have to buy good ones or I would be replacing them every other week.  I have been getting her skater tennis shoes because of their durability.  Thank goodness they have a line of "girlie" skater shoes or I do not know what I would do.

My husband has basketball practice tonight.  They weren't supposed to have it but he was able to find a school that had an open gym.  They have their first game this Saturday.  He doesn't think the team is going to be very good this year as most of the boys are short.  He seems to have kids from good families this year so that is a plus.  In the years past we had to deal with so much complaining from parents about what position their kid got to play and how long they were in the game.  These parents that complain have obviously not coached before.  I know I complain about my husband and his obsession with sports but I do know he knows what he is doing and is very good with children.  I think he should coach on the high school level but he doesn't want to teach school and that is typically what you have to do around here if you want to coach.  This will be the last year he will coach because these kids will be old enough to play school ball starting next year.  Hylari and Brock are not very athletic that they will be playing sports where he could coach one of their teams.  He has talked about coaching sometime in the future if coaches are needed even though it won't be for any of our kids' teams.

I guess I have rattled on enough today.  My boss just asked me to get ready to join her for lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant.  Yummmmmy!

Have a great day

myspace layouts, myspace codes, glitter graphics Wow, I'm impressed that you got your tree up already! I had the option of putting ours up over the weekend but I decided I would "later." I don't know when that will be. Gosh, I would not have had the patience to change to colored lights. White lights are my favorite also on trees and on the house. I need to color my hair too and went to Walmart to buy my Loreal. haha! I use to spend money at the salon but that has been years and years ago. As for my manicure, my daughter Grace has a "salon." haha! What are skater tennis shoes? I've never heard of them before. Thats great that your hubby coaches. He is doing a lot for kids and also good excercise for him. I see you are still blogging at work! Lucky Lucky!
