Hello, I am Sami and welcome to my blog. For a few weeks now, I have been feeling some really big "growth spurts" inside of me. I am 30 something wife, mom/stepmom who has always put her children first. As of this year one of our sons will become an adult, two of our children will become teens and one will become a preteen. While I will continue to make my children a priority I must put my husband and our marriage first. I will also focus on bringing the woman within me out. I look forward to this new chapter in my life in order to watch our children grow into responsible adults, to love and cherish my husband and to be the beautiful, confident woman God created. Please join me in my journey and always feel free to comment, offer advise, or just say hello!
Hi Sami .. good to be back from Africa and love your site
Here I am popping up out of no where again. I miss coming to blog so much and even miss the friends I made here even more so. It makes my day to read comments from those of you that are in my thoughts each day, even when I do not come around for a long time.
Life is just busy, busy, busy. I have 4 vacation days left and although I have a few of them prescheduled here and there around the holidays it sure would be nice to take a week off right now in order to relax to get ready for the holidays. I know I would be disappointed if I used them now so I will leave things as they are. I don't know how I do it. I receive 5 weeks vacation a year, which is a generous amount of vacation time. But it seems like I use all but a handful of days before October. I know the majority of my time goes to school events. Which being that Hyl was still in elementary last spring that is where the most of them went. I have only had to use 2 this fall for middle school events. Anyhoo....I say this every year but I do not always follow my own rules. I am not going to blow through my vacation next year so that I can have some days to relax during the fall of 08.
I will give a brief update on the kids. Mike is in his senior year at school. His football team is undefeated! Their final game is this Thursday night. I hope and pray they can have an undefeated season. We still are no further with him and college. My hubby and I have preached until we were blue in the face. He was approached by a few colleges in order to play football there but he doesn't have the grades. He currently has a 2.0 average which is sad for someone who is capable of so much more. AJ has really turned school around over the past few weeks. We went to Parent Teacher conferences last week and the teachers said they have noticed a difference. It took a couple weeks of being grounded from his favorite game but I think he is getting it. He will be starting basketball in about 3 weeks. My hubby is coaching the team. AJ will get to try out for school ball next year. Hylari is doing fantastic in school....all A's. Her downfall is her sassy mouth. My sweet little baby is gone and enters in her teenaged cousin. Uuuugh! It is going to be a rough ride. Hyl ran for student counsil but didn't win. She was ok with it. The school only gave 2 days to campaign. Brock is really struggling again this year in school. My hubby and I went to meet with the teachers a few weeks back. They are going to work on a plan in order to try to help him be more successful in school. Between us and the teachers we are trying to get his mother more plugged in. She just doesn't have a clue about how to be a good mother.
We just found out a few weeks ago that my husband has sleep apnea. He should hear something this week about getting a CPAP machine to wear at night while he sleeps. Neither one of us are sleeping very well because of it so we are hoping the machine will do wonders.
Well I am going to go out and say hello to my buddies that I have not talked to in a while. I hope to be back more often.
