Hello, I am Sami and welcome to my blog. For a few weeks now, I have been feeling some really big "growth spurts" inside of me. I am 30 something wife, mom/stepmom who has always put her children first. As of this year one of our sons will become an adult, two of our children will become teens and one will become a preteen. While I will continue to make my children a priority I must put my husband and our marriage first. I will also focus on bringing the woman within me out. I look forward to this new chapter in my life in order to watch our children grow into responsible adults, to love and cherish my husband and to be the beautiful, confident woman God created. Please join me in my journey and always feel free to comment, offer advise, or just say hello!
Hi Sami .. good to be back from Africa and love your site

Well we received our first snow yesterday. Two inches to be exact. I left work about two hours early because I am not a confident driver in the snow. And since I had never driven my new car in the snow I wasn't sure how it would handle. Of course I shouldn't have worried since I now have an SUV but I still did. I am glad I left early because on the news they said there were 300 reported accidents during the rush hour drive home. I heard the police sirens non stop all afternoon and evening long. The roads weren't really that bad but you got your folks who do not take the snow and ice seriously and drive like it is still dry out and they are the ones that cause the accidents.
We are supposed to go to my Vice Presidents house tonight for a Christmas party but the weather will determine if we actually go or not. It is being reported that we could start getting some freezing rain later on this afternoon and continue through Tuesday! Thank goodness I pack a few "snow days" into my vacation schedule because if it is bad out I would just as soon stay at home.
Hylari went to her dads house last night. I normally do not like it when she leaves but she was being so loud and obnoxious last night I was looking forward to the break. I think it was the snow. Although she didn't ask to go out and play in it the snow gets the kids around these parts all hyped up. My hubby and I went out to a buffet dinner but before I had asked to stop by the grocery store so that I could check my blood pressure. Ever since my doctor reported my blood pressure as being high I have been freaking out and I can't take the medicine she put me on. My blood pressure was in the normal range when I checked it at the grocery store. I am not sure how good those machines are. I did call my insurance company and they said they would pay 90% of a home machine after I met my deductible. I have to go to the doctor every 3 months for blood work and I am still no way near close to meeting my deductible. My hubby and I go to the same doctor and he has met his deductible due to his sleep study so I think I am going to call the doctor to see if she can write a prescription in his name to get the home monitor and then we won't have to pay as much. I want to be able to get a pretty good one......since, must I say, my husband and I are both getting older and our blood pressure is something we both should watch.
When we got home we played a couple games of dice. My husband won all the games. My husband was annoyed because the dog was in the middle of it all. I love dogs and my hubby would rather not have one. I don't know what I would do without my four legged friend. I think deep down my husband likes her because he does play with her. He just doesn't want any dog fur within 10 feet of him and the dog better not kiss him. I know many people would think it was gross but I treat my dog like my kids. I let her kiss me and even though she is 50 pounds she thinks she is a lap dog and is alway sitting in my lap.
I received this absolutely beautiful picture in an email today. It is a shame that the media does not report on things like this. I had never heard that they do this type of decorating at Arlington Cementery and it makes me sad that many other people are not aware of it either. If you go out and google "Arlington Cementery wreathes" you can read the story about how this man that owns this wreathe company DONATES all of these wreathes each year to decorate Arlington. He is a true angel. This picture is so touching to me. I am going to make it my picture at the top of my blog and even found a place where I can purchase a print from that I am going to hang in my house. Enjoy the photo and remember all of our military, those that are serving our country today and those that are no longer with us, each day.

Have a great day!
