Hello, I am Sami and welcome to my blog. For a few weeks now, I have been feeling some really big "growth spurts" inside of me. I am 30 something wife, mom/stepmom who has always put her children first. As of this year one of our sons will become an adult, two of our children will become teens and one will become a preteen. While I will continue to make my children a priority I must put my husband and our marriage first. I will also focus on bringing the woman within me out. I look forward to this new chapter in my life in order to watch our children grow into responsible adults, to love and cherish my husband and to be the beautiful, confident woman God created. Please join me in my journey and always feel free to comment, offer advise, or just say hello!
Hi Sami .. good to be back from Africa and love your site
I have to make this quick today because I have alot of work to do but I also have lots to say.
First off....I got my new everyday glasses and sunglasses yesterday. I **love** my new everyday glasses. They totally change my look. I will have to find some time to take a picture so that I can show them off. The lenses are much smaller and believe it or not my eyesight got slightly better from my last visit so I am experiencing a small headache as my eyes adjust to the new pair.
After going by the eye doctors I had to go to the imaging center for my first mammogram. Since I was not sure to expect I was a little nervous. For anyone who has not gone to their first mammogram let me assure you it is **nothing** to get yourself worked up about. They take a total of 4 images. You stand the whole time; however, for some reason I thought I would be sitting. The first two that I had to do were straight on and not that bad. The second two they turn the machine sideways and those were the ones I felt the "squish". But it wasn't unbearable. I had to go back and sit in the dressing room while they devolped the images and had the doctor look them over. The tech came back to the dressing room and told me everthing looks normal and I was released to not have to do another one until I am 40, unless my doctor instructed otherwise. Good deal! Glad I got passed the first one and to hear the good news that all was well.
I had my first night off last night. It was nice. I was actually kind of bored because I am not the type to sit around and watch tv but that is exactly what I did. Especially since I do not know if it will last the whole week long I thought I better take advantage of it the first night. I did alot of cracking up. My husband does not cook **at all** so I planned real simple meals. For example last night we just had frozen pizza. Hylari has a field trip today and he had to make her a lunch and he was looking all around trying to find the baggies. He wouldn't ask me because he wanted to make it look like he knew what he was doing. I also wish I had a $1 for each time Hylari said, "But momma doesn't do it like that". We did have to take a break for about a half hour and go up to the school to make copies of a form to send out to all the students. I am the chairperson for the Nominating Committee for next years PTSA. After we got back home I was helping Hylari with her homework because she had TONS of Social Studies. My hubby insisted that he help her since it was my night off. I told him that he would have to help her until it was done because normally he goes to bed at 9:30 on the dot. I knew there was so much homework there that it would go past 9:30. He sat down to help her and they didn't finish until about 9:50. He then got Hylari guided to do her nightly duties of taking a shower and brushing her teeth. I could tell he was worn out but he was never going to admit it. Once Hyl was done with her shower she called him back to have him help pick out her clothes for the next day. I heard him say while he was back there "I don't know how to pick out girls clothes." Hehehehe.....this is all very good for him. I talked to him on my way to work this morning and he did mention to me that the homework takes up alot of the evening. He also mentioned to me that last night his back was hurting and his eyes were melting out of his head. He also said that he knows he didn't even do half of what I normally do.
I want to stay and type more but people keep calling and coming into my office so I better get off here and get the work done that I need to be doing.
Have a great day!
