Hello, I am Sami and welcome to my blog. For a few weeks now, I have been feeling some really big "growth spurts" inside of me. I am 30 something wife, mom/stepmom who has always put her children first. As of this year one of our sons will become an adult, two of our children will become teens and one will become a preteen. While I will continue to make my children a priority I must put my husband and our marriage first. I will also focus on bringing the woman within me out. I look forward to this new chapter in my life in order to watch our children grow into responsible adults, to love and cherish my husband and to be the beautiful, confident woman God created. Please join me in my journey and always feel free to comment, offer advise, or just say hello!
Hi Sami .. good to be back from Africa and love your site

Brrrrr! It is a whopping 33 degrees out this morning. If I said it once I will say it again.....I do not like winter!!! I want to move to Florida or Arizona where it is warm all the time.
Last night was the only evening this week that I didn't have something to do. I was looking forward to making dinner, helping Hylari with her homework, doing a few chores around the house and then relaxing for the evening. Of course, my world always changes as soon as I get home from work.
First Hylari announced that she needed a new binder. I do not know what this kid does with her binder but this is the 5th binder we have purchased since school started on August 20!!! My husband and I have given her Binder Care 101 classes and a How to Properly Open and Close Your Binder seminar and last but not least the Giving Your Binder the TLC it Needs course........and she still manages to break them! We just don't get it. Call it insider trading but I am highly suggesting you go get some stock in binders because Hylari wants to make you a millionaire!
Then before dinner my husband talked to Mike who announced that his UnderArmour shirt had ripped. I am not sure if you are familiar with UnderArmour or not but it is a silky type shirt that athletes wear under their uniforms that obsorbs sweat and keeps them warm. UnderArmour is far from being cheap. If Mike were still in the regular football season with one game left we probably would have told him that he would have to make do with what he has but being that this is a playoff game we knew how important it was that he have his head in the game and not worry about being cold. So after dinner we headed up to Dick's Sporting Goods and got him an UnderArmour shirt and then we were off to Walmart to get Hylari yet another binder.
The medical supply company brought my husbands CPAP machine by last night. It is really kind of cool. Of course I had to try it on to see how it works. My husband said he didn't sleep that well with it on last night but we agreed that it is going to take some time in getting used to it. Me, on the other hand slept like a baby. The machine did wonders for him as far as his snoring goes. I didn't hear a peep out of him all night long where as normally he is so loud I usually go sleep at the end of the bed. The representative from the medical supply company had his sleep study test results with him and he said my husband is catergorized as having severe Sleep Apnea. My husband is extremely anti-doctor...just because he doesn't want to have to pay the $25 co-pay...however I am so glad he finally went and got this problem diagnosed and now can start treating it.
Last but not least this morning I had to go vote. I love going to vote not only to voice my opinion on what is on the docket but I love the elderly people that run the polls. I am not sure how it is in other parts of the US but in my area it is always retired folks who run our polls. You can tell they are so eager to "do something" and I just get a kick out of them. They are just so darn cute. Yes, it takes about 3 to 4 times longer than it should to get registered and have ballot in hand but thats allright. When I was younger it used to get on my nerves that old people ran our polls but now I absolutely adore them. Perhaps it may be that I am getting closer to their age and may be their replacement someday.
There is this one particular lady that is always running the polls that grabs my attention. I don't know who she is but I see her around town shopping etc. I see alot of myself in her as far as the fact that I say I will NEVER have gray hair. You can tell she is as old as can be but she has the darkest brown hair without a single gray! That is right sister! No gray hairs e-v-e-r!!! This lady also wears, I kid you not, a whole compact of blush on her cheeks. That is the first thing you notice about her. And she does not just apply it to the cheek bone....oh no....it is the whole entire cheek from under the eye to the jaw line. Just splattered on there as thick and as dark as she can. Although the blush is a little much she really is as cute as can be. I always smile when I see her at the grocery store....of course you can see her from a mile away with those rosy cheeks!
Well I must be off to go eat breakfast and get started on my work.
Have an absolutely fabulous day!
