Hello, I am Sami and welcome to my blog. For a few weeks now, I have been feeling some really big "growth spurts" inside of me. I am 30 something wife, mom/stepmom who has always put her children first. As of this year one of our sons will become an adult, two of our children will become teens and one will become a preteen. While I will continue to make my children a priority I must put my husband and our marriage first. I will also focus on bringing the woman within me out. I look forward to this new chapter in my life in order to watch our children grow into responsible adults, to love and cherish my husband and to be the beautiful, confident woman God created. Please join me in my journey and always feel free to comment, offer advise, or just say hello!
Hi Sami .. good to be back from Africa and love your site

Our boys did it!!!!!!!! They pulled off the perfect 10-0 record and are the District Conference Champions!!!! (APPLAUSE) It was a tough game and they played their hardest. The season always ends with them playing Oak Grove which is their biggest rival. We were on Oak Grove's turf which even brought more of a challenge. But our boys retained the trophy and brought it back home!! (The rival is so big that there is a trophy involved like the Governer's Cup which is played by the two Missouri professional football teams)
Something I find very interesting with this group of guys is a little more than a handful of them started playing Pop Warner football together when they were very young. During their final year of playing Pop Warner football they won and went into the championship games. These same guys were all on the same 8th grade football team in which they had an undefeated season as well. During their 9th, 10th, and 11th grade years they were spread out amongst the JV and Varsity teams. (The coach likes to win so even though some of the boys were good enough for varsity the coach put some of them on the JV team so that both teams would have a better chance at winning. Luckily Mike has been playing varsity since his sophmore year). Now that they are all back together they had yet another undefeated season. These guys work really well together. I am very proud of them.
We play the sectionals championship game next Wednesday night. Unfortunately we never make it very far in post season play. The thing is our district is in the country and is ranked as D5. (However, we are being moved up to D4 next year but Mike will be long gone by then). Basically we are at the bottom of the totem pole and will have to go up against schools that are D4,D3, D2 and D1. Those guys are bigger and better. Where our team has a couple of star players D2 and D1 teams have a whole squad of star players. It is honor enough to make it this far...although I am sure our guys are wishing they could go all the way to be state champions. You never know....we will surely be there in the stands cheering them on.
Not much going on this weekend. I will take down the Halloween decorations tomorrow and put up the Thanksgiving ones. Hubby and AJ have a basketball clinic tomorrow morning and then my husband has to go work a disaster recovery exercise Saturday late afternoon into the evening.
Have a great weekend!
