Those poor people in Minnesota have lived one of my worst fears.  I am terrified to drive over bridges with water underneath...always have been.  I have spent many hours thinking up a "plan" to get myself to safety if by chance a bridge went down when I was driving over it.  I had to come up with a more rigorous plan after I had Hylari because, of course, I had to save her as well.  Probably because I have never seen photos before of a bridge collapse but never in thinking up my plan did I account for the heavy pieces of concrete.  My only thoughts were of getting the seatbelts off and pushing the doors open against the currents of water and of course all while dealing with the water filling up the car and not allowing that to drown me or Hylari.  But after seeing this tragedy I do not think my plan would have worked.  Fortunately where I live I rarely have to travel over a bridge with water underneath.  However, a few times a year I do drive up north to a friends house and have to cross the NB 291 bridge that goes over the Missouri River.  In the aftermath of the Minnesota bridge collapse all states are looking at the safety of their bridges.  The NB 291 bridge that I cross is one in Missouri that has been rated as being in a deteoriated state.  Ironically my friend who if I go visit her I have to cross that bridge called me the other day inviting me to come up to her house this Sunday.  I have not decided yet if I want to go or not.  I was not on a computer yesterday at all so all I had seen of the bridge collapse in Minnesota was what was on TV.  I did see pictures on the internet today and they tell a different story than what I saw on TV.  It is much worse in pictures.  You can see the actual distance the bridge dropped and the pieces of concrete on top of cars.  A horrible, horrible, tragedy.  My thoughts and prayers are with them all.

I finally got my truck and I love it.  I have had it a week now.  I have already put a little more than 250 miles on it!  I want to drive it all the time.  I am sure that will calm down once the newness wears off.

Yesterday I had to take Hylari to get two shots.  Bless her heart.  She tried to be so tough but a few tears rolled down her sweet cheeks.  I thank God for her everyday.  She is such a blessing.  I am so thankful God chose me to mother her and I do it to the fullest every day. 

Well my walking buddy is ready to go for a 30 minute walk so I must be going.
