PRAYERS NEEDED

  • Pray for: Jaxon, Tyler, families, doctors and the unknown donating family

Today is turning into a very emotional day.  We have a friend from church who has a friend who's son is number 1 on the liver transplant list.  I also have a friend that I graduated from school with who's son is number 2 on the list.  A liver became available this morning and both boys are being treated as if they are receiving a transplant today.  Jaxon will be first to be considered and if his counts are not high enough then Tyler will be considered.  PLEASE keep both boys, families and doctors in prayer.  Also keep the family in prayer who lost their child and are donating the organs so that others may have a second chance at life.

Yeah Giants!

  • Mood:
  • Pray for: The elderly
  • Days until vacation: 5!!!!!!

We had an absolutely fabulous weekend.  My hubby did our taxes on Friday and instead of owing we actually are getting a little bit back. Wahoo!  Then being the wonderful CFO our of family he is, my husband, anticpating that we would have to pay on our taxes has been holding money back for nearly a year.  So since we wouldn't need that money he pulled it out of the bank and we went and bought some necessities (like printer ink for both printers) and the boys some new pants/jeans and the leftovers he split between the two of us.  I hit a sale at Sears and got some really cute tops for next to nothing!  These tops were actually part of the winter clothing but the sleeves are a quarter sleeve and the material is light weight so I think they will transition into spring really well.  They also have an empire waiste which I learned on my How to Look Good Naked and What Not to Wear shows that those type of tops will look best on me since I do not (hehhhmm!) have a flat stomach.  I also got these cute shoes:

I can't wait for spring to get here so that I can wear them all. I am NOT a clothes and shoes kind of person but am working on the "feel better about my self image" thing so hopefully this all will help.

I also got my haircut on Saturday and  I think I finally found me a new hairdresser.  I really liked the gal who cut my hair and she told me she has the same type of hair that I have so to have someone be able to relate to my limp and straight hair problems means alot to me.  I am trying to grow my hair out in order to get it cut into an inverted bob (where it is stacked in the back but the longer bob on the sides) and the new hairdresser said I will have that achieved by the time it is time to get it cut next.  Yeah!  I have had to have alot of patience waiting this one out.  You don't know how many times I have almost went and just had my hair cut off.  I am glad I waited.

On Saturday evening my husband and I rented "Pearl Harbor".  Although it is an older movie I had never seen it before.  It was a very good movie.  We finished the movie at 1:00AM and all I wanted to do was go to a recruiting office and sign up for duty.  If I wasn't too old, out of shape and have the medical problems I do I would go do it in a heartbeat.  I wish the military had jobs for people like me because I am sure there are plenty of people who want to do things for their country that are not in the best of shape.

We had talked to Mike on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and made plans to take him to lunch on Sunday afternoon.  He had bought a new car and wanted to show it to us so my husband told him to drive over to our house at noon on Sunday and we would look at his car and take him out to lunch.  Noon came and went on Sunday and no signs from Mike.  One o'clock came and went and no signs/calls from Mike.  My husband said at 1:00 we would wait an hour longer and then go to lunch if he didn't show up. I thought waiting an additional hour was ridiculous since he was already an hour late but so be it.  We waited until 2:00 and he never showed so we went on to lunch.  We still have not heard a word from him. We decided that we are not going to call him.  We are going to leave the ball in his court and let him call us.  If he truly believes his priorities are with his friends and girlfriend then that is where he also needs to go when he needs something because we are done with the way he treats us.  We have talked to his mom and she feels the same way.

We watched the superbowl game last night.  You know I am not into sports but I sat with my hubby while he watched it and I ended up getting into the game.  I cannot stand Tom Brady for moral and value issues. What a scum.....go make a baby with someone he isn't even married to and then goes to be with a Vicky's model. Yuck!   I cannot stand the Patriots as a whole because they are cheaters.  So I am glad that Eli Manning and the Giants won the superbowl.  Good for them!  My favorite commercials were the little baby talking about making trades and getting a clown with his extra money.  Wasn't he the cutest?  And I liked the dog drinking Gatorade.

Well I am down to my last week of work before my vacation.  I can't wait!!!  I need to start scheduling my time so that I can get everything done that I want to get done.  However, when I originally put in for this vacation it was to give myself a break since I am always on the go.  So I am going to force myself to take plenty of down time as well.

Have a great day!
