Hello, I am Sami and welcome to my blog. For a few weeks now, I have been feeling some really big "growth spurts" inside of me. I am 30 something wife, mom/stepmom who has always put her children first. As of this year one of our sons will become an adult, two of our children will become teens and one will become a preteen. While I will continue to make my children a priority I must put my husband and our marriage first. I will also focus on bringing the woman within me out. I look forward to this new chapter in my life in order to watch our children grow into responsible adults, to love and cherish my husband and to be the beautiful, confident woman God created. Please join me in my journey and always feel free to comment, offer advise, or just say hello!
Hi Sami .. good to be back from Africa and love your site

I changed my look and feel.....do you only see 1/3 of the tile image like I do? This seems to happen each time I change the title image and within 24 hours it magically corrects itself. ??????

The weekend seemed to last forever. The majority of that has to do with the gorgeous weather we had. Since it was in the upper 60's all weekend long we could **get out** and **do** something rather than be locked up in the house. It was a nice change of pace since we spent most of December either iced or snowed in.
Friday evening we went to the social after work for my co-worker that is leaving the company. Our company ended up picking up the tab so we got to have drinks and food for free which was really nice. Just a small group of people showed up and it was alot of fun. After that was over an even smaller group of people wanted to go out dancing and since my husband and I had not been out in years we decided to go with them. It was alot of fun there too; however, the music was not really our style.
On Saturday morning we got up early and ran a few errands. On the way home we stopped by the car wash to wash my truck in order to get all the salt and sand off of it. Once we got home we went outside and applied my stick family sticker to my back window. I absolutely **love** it! I have showed it off to a few people over the past few days and they do not think much of it but I couldn't be happier with it. My husband and I then started putting down the new vinyl tiles after I cleaned the floor really good. The new tiles look great! The job is not **completely** done yet. My husband still needs to do the tiles that need to be cut to size underneath the cabinets and he has to pull out the fridge so that we can do that area as well. I will take pictures as soon as it is done. I have told my husband it **has** to be done before the weekend before they boys come over. I don't want a house full of people walking on them and they shift because they are not all in. I am keeping my fingers crossed he will get them done.
At one point while my husband was cutting some tiles I took a quick break and got on the internet to check the local news. I was completely shocked to see that a parent of a student from Hylari's school had been arrested for child molestation. What is **even** more shocking is this guy is a hairdresser and I had my hair done by him several times and he had even cut Hylari's hair once when she was real small! I also had a run in with him two years ago at Christmas time when I was in charge of the Christmas party at Hylari's school. This guy dresses up as the Grinch and offered to do so for our party. Once he arrived at the school we had **nothing** but problems with him. He had called up the news station and invited them there to do a news story on him being the Grinch. We couldn't allow the news to come into the school. At the time we thought he was doing that for free publicity but now we wonder if it was more of a sick mind game of showing what he was getting away with. After I read the news story I quickly started calling all the PTA people I know from our elementary school and no one was home. I did get to talk to one of them later on in the evening and found out that the guy is in jail on $250,000 cash bond so hopefully that keeps him there until he is tried and then thrown in the slammer for good! The scary thing is I always thought this guy was somewhat **odd** but I would have never in a million years guessed he would do something like this. He was the type of parent that was at every school event and appeared to very involved with his children's education. Which he could have very well been. But on the same note he was a walking time bomb walking the halls of our school with our children walking around him. I cannot stress enough to parents to NEVER let your kids out of your sight. You **never** know who is there amongst you that could harm your children. The news is reporting that they believe this guy has been doing this for 25 years! They stated that all though the statue of limitations has run out on some of the previous years victims they still want them to come forward. It is some very scary stuff. And I feel so bad for his children. What is also scary is the guy is divorced and the courts awarded him custody of his kids!!!!! I hope all of his victims can be helped and I also hope that our court system will give them justice by giving this freak the worst possible sentence.
Today I went to a friends house and we **finally** got the chance to do our Christmas crafts. I was too tired tonight to take the pictures, download them and then upload them to bravejournal. I will try to do that later on this week. I really think one of the crafts we did turned out real cute.
Tonight my sister came over to cut my husbands hair. I was making homemade potatoe soup so she ate some with us. It didn't turn out as well as it did a few weeks ago when I made it. My sis did tell me she doesn't think my grey color is right for my bathroom. She is probably right since the room is so small. I still haven't made a 100% decision yet....heck, I still haven't even Kilz'd the room yet!
Oh and I got my mop today while I was up at my friends house! I **LOVE** it! I have only got to use it on my upstairs bathroom so far but it cleans like a charm! It normally takes me 10-15 minutes to mop that bathroom floor and when I am done I am usually pretty warn out. It litterally took me 4 minutes to clean the floor and I didn't have to use much energy at all! And the floors are vibrantly shiny! It is called the Shark Steam Mop.....I highly recommend it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
