It is all about the Hair

  • Pray for: The USA
  • Days until vacation: Clean out your junk drawer

Today is a new day and I will give it another go.  Thank you for the suggestions on typing out in wordpad first.  Forgive me as I am technically challenged but what is wordpad?  I have tried typing it out in Word before and cutting and pasting and that didn't work. ????

Over the weekend I was looking for ideas for my hair.  (Are you relating with me, Gina?  But like I said....you have BEAUTIFUL hair)  I got my hair cut several months ago and the lady didn't do it right. I am trying to let it grow out and it is currently in that frustrating stage where it is definetly in need of a cut for the hairstyle it was in but if I want to let it grow out I need to leave it be.  The other problem I have is my hair is straight! straight! straight! and limp!  No body at all.  God blessed my baby sister with the curly hair.  As I was out searching on the web for ideas I came across information that said to wash limp hair with baby shampoo.  I do this from time to time but never on a consistant basis. It also suggested leaving the shampoo on my hair for a longer period of time.  I have been washing my hair with baby shampoo and leaving it sit on there for several minutes for the past 4 days and I really like the results.  I don't know what it is but I feel like it has some texture to it now and there is even a hint of body to it.  I will keep this up and see if it will get me through my trials until it is long enough to cut into the style I want it in.

I have also been leaving my face soap on my face longer and have noticed results there too.  I am normally a get in the shower, get it done and get out type of person.  I am so unlike my daughter that camps in there for 30 minutes.  I have noticed if I slow down and give the products some time to work results truly show up!  As I have been putting on my make up each morning I have noticed that my skin does not look like I am going to be turning 40 in a few years.  That works for me!

Also over the weekend I was flipping through the guide and saw a TV show called "How to Look Good Naked".   It was on Lifetime so I knew it wasn't going to be some nasty TV show.  It actually ended up being really good.  It is a reality show where they take a woman who is not happy with her body and help her to build her confidence up and accept her body the way it is.  They first take a picture of the woman from the neck down while she is in her bra and panties.  They put the picture up on a building in the downtown area and ask people on the streets what they think of her body.  Everyone has nice compliments and the woman doing the show gets to hear them.  They then place her in her bra and panties in front of the 3 way mirror and have her say what she doesn't like about her body.  Of course there are alot of tears because most women do not like their bodies and it hurts us to know we don't have a perfect one.  They then take her to a line up of ladies that are in their bra and panties and have her place herself where she thinks her body fits from smallest to biggest.  The two shows I watched the ladies placed themselves towards the end where the larger ladies were when they really should have been towards the beginning where the smaller ladies were.  This was to show them that they see themselves much larger than they truly are.  They then take them to a store to get properly fitted for a bra because 80% of women do not wear the correct size of bra.  Not having the right sized bra on makes extra "rolls" and makes clothes not lay properly.  The also learn to start with undergarments in order to feel good about themselves and to feel sexy.  Then they go shopping for clothes.  After the clothes shopping they get a make over and are told they will do a photo shoot.  Once they are ready for the photo shoot the host asks them to do it naked.  Now, they are not totally naked.  They have a sheet covering them up.  The lesson is to get past the boundaries of not being comfortable with their body and to build confidence.  Once those pictures are done they take one of them and put them on the building downtown and then they ask the people on the streets if they look good naked.  The two shows I watched the ladies felt so much better about themselves and made huge transformations in the way they looked.  All women need to have the confidence in themselves.  If you ever get the chance to watch a show or two I think you would be inspired to feel better about yourself....if you need it!

I can't think of much else going on. I spent most of the day yesterday following the Britney Spears saga.  What is up with that girl?  I feel so sad for her children.  I hope parents learn that millions of dollars are not worth turning your children into stars before their time.  That whole family is messed up and the Simpson family is right behind them.

Have a great day!
